Who Are the Friends?
The Friends of the Library (FOL) is a public non-profit organization that welcomes everyone who is interested in supporting the New Matamoras Library.
What Is the Mission?
The group's mission is, "to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs; to assist the library Board and staff in developing and sponsoring programs of educational, cultural, or recreational value for Friends and the community at large; and to develop fund-raising projects for the library..."
How Do the Friends Help?
Perpetual book sale. Watch for upcoming fundraisers!
How Is the Money Used?
Although independent of the library system, the Friends communicate with library staff to pinpoint needs - needs that are expected to grow as library funding continues to be pinched.
The New Matamoras Friends have provided the New Matamoras branch with:
- Supplies for Summer Reading Programs
- Supplies for Children Programs
- New Memory Stick for Digital Camera
- Purchased shirts for staff
- and much more
